Think FSU logo

Think FSU is a curriculum enhancement plan to help Florida State University students apply critical thought to their chosen area of study. Through the Think FSU Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), students will apply learned behaviors taught in their areas of study to improve their ability to demonstrate the characteristics of a critical thinker.

Five Characteristics of a Critical Thinker

1.
Develop A Thesis

Formulate a hypothesis related to their area of study

2.
Explain

Explain the issue or problem clearly and comprehensively

3.
Gather Evidence

Collect and apply evidence and data to support or refute a position on an issue

4.
Analyze

Analyze contexts, assumptions and perspectives when presenting a position on the hypothesis

5.
Draw Conclusions

Draw logical conclusions and implications from the analysis of evidence and data related to the issue or problem in their area of study
